General Notes:
I have located a Civil war record for C. Theriot in the 18th Louisiana Infantry, Company I. I believe this to be our Camile as there is also a Hyppolite Theriot in the same unit and company. Camile and Hyppolite were brothers. Both brothers would have been of the right age to be enlisted in the War Between The States, according to the 1860 census, both were listed as 18 years of age. There was also a Z. Theriot in this same Unit and company. It is possible that this was another brother, Onezime, who possibly went by the name of Zime. All three military record references are listed below, for consideration.
Theriot, C., Pvt. Co. I, 18th La. Inf. En. —, Oct. 10, 1862. Roll Jan. and Feb., 1863, Detached at New Iberia. in Ordnance Dept. Roll May and June, 1863, Dropped by order. Also on Rolls of Co. [See Tyruss, H. in the listings, below.] This soldier appears to be the same as Theriot, H. of Co. I, for the enlistment information is the same and is the only soldier that matches this name. The additional information in brackets is from the Muster Roll pages received from Jackson Barracks, New Orleans.. Confederate Research Sources Volume 3 T page 798
