Lusignan Blanchard

picture

bullet  General Notes:

He killed a man named Bernuchaux over the affections of a woman. It was reported that both men had once said that one of them was going to die the next
time they would meet. On the day of the shooting, both men carried rifles. While in a store owned by Nore St. Germain, Lusignan Blanchard saw Bernuchaux
coming in his direction. Once Bernuchaux was in front of the store, Lusignan Blanchard shot him while he was still in the saddle. Bernuchaux died at the scene. The location is the present location of the Rainbow Inn in Pierre Part. A claim of self-defense was made to the authorities which apparently was quite
convincing because no further punishment was made against Lusignan.
