Widower of Marguerite Josephe Dugast disembarked at St. Malo on January 23, 1759, from one of the "Five Ships". He resided with his second wife and their family in Plouer Parish from 1759 to 1760, St. Coulomb Parish from 1760 to 1766, St. Servan Parish from 1766 to 1771, and again at St. Coulomb from 1771to 1772 (all in France).
He, his wife, and four of his children and two nieces boarded the vessel "La Bergere", departed Nantes, France on 14 May 1785 for Louisiana, arriving 15 Aug 1785. Occupation listed as sawer.
Joseph also married Marie Madelaine Granger, daughter of Joseph Granger and Anne Richard, on 30 Jun 1760 in Pleurtuit, Ille Et Vilaine, France. (Marie Madelaine Granger was born on 2 May 1731 in St Charles Des Mines, Grand Pre, Acadia.)
